According to Angus:
reddish amber. .
deeply mulchy, earthy and towards petrichor and a very robust and organic style of rancio. Very pure Grande Champagne character with this firmness, depth and sense of warmth and structure. A wonderfully generous and pleasurable nose that draws you right in.
quite peppery on arrival. The tannins are powerful and prickling but also very precise, clean and with a wonderful sense of top quality dark chocolate, walnut wine and green Chartreuse. Warming, still firmly on deeper rancio tones, leathery qualities and this impression of earthen wine cellar mulch. Superbly evocative Cognac.
medium in length and still pleasingly warming, peppery, leafy and with notes of tobacco and more dark chocolate.
pure pleasure! And everything you want from a well-matured GC Cognac. There is a simplicity and a directness that is crying out for a big measure in a Cognac snifter glass and uncomplicated, carefree sipping with a good book late at night. A great shame there were only 56 bottles in my view.
